President's Message

Shalom,

Welcome to our community!

Temple Beth El is a Reconstructionist Synagogue that was founded in 1954 by a small group of Jewish families. The Congregation moved into its present building in September of 1984. We are a vibrant and evolving congregation and take pride in our warm and inclusive environment. At present we have over 275 family units with approximately 200 children in our two day a week religious school. We are located in Newark, DE. and we serve as the community center for the greater Newark area. Recent renovations and an upcoming Parenting Center are making our congregation better than ever. We also have a thriving social network in our Men's Club and Sisterhood. These two organizations constantly provide many opportunities to get involved; fundraising, social action, catering, or just having a great time. If you like to sing, we have a choir; if you play a musical instrument, our Klezmer band would welcome your participation. Teens enjoy our Teen Connection and BBYO chapters. As you can see, Temple Beth El has something for everyone. If you are synagogue shopping, I hope you will contact our administrator and come visit us. Just one visit and you will know you are home!
