President's Message
Welcome,
Temple Beth El, a Reconstructionist Synagogue, was founded in 1954 by a small group of Jewish families. The Congregation moved into its present building in September of 1984. Events over the past year or so include the purchase of a new torah, and extensive renovation to our Social Hall. At present we have over 275 family units with approximately 200 children in our religious school. We are located in Newark, DE. and we serve as the community center for the greater Newark area. Part of what makes TBE such an active community is directly attributed to our Men's Club and Sisterhood. These two organizations constantly provide many opportunities to get involved; whether it involves raising funds or just getting together to have a good time. If you like to sing, we have a choir, or if you play a musical instrument our Klezmer band would welcome your participation. As you can see, Temple Beth El has something for everyone. If you are looking for a synagogue to join, I hope you will contact our administrator and come visit us. I truly believe you will like what you see.
